Why is Differentiating Between Missions and Evangelism Important?

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”  1 Chronicles 16:3

Have you wondered about the difference between Missions and Evangelism? Is there a difference? Let’s see…

Speaking (to anyone, anywhere you live work and play) the Gospel (witness)=Evangelism.  As believers in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are all called to witness.

Missions then (being a missionary) is leaving home, doing evangelism while crossing the boundaries of distance, culture and language…

Local servants in outreach ministries at UBC share the gospel of Jesus Christ locally while meeting physical needs, reaching out to students, ministering in Appalachia, serving in the local detention center and even serving our politicians in Annapolis.

UBC proudly supports 14 missionaries including those serving on the frontlines, and honoring our ‘not done yets’-who have served 30+ years cross-culturally, now serving in other capcities within their missions.
